It's Not Easy Being Green

Okay... so i think this is kinda thought provoking. When i was younger, The Muppets was some of my favorite shows/movies. So i found this song on YouTube... it is only like a minute long so definatly check it out and let me know what you think. Any Thoughts about the song?

So watching this video first of all made me really nostalgic!
But after i got over the initial wanting to be five years old again, i started thinking about how this song really does connect back with what we've been discussing in class. You know people seem to think that just because you change one thing about yourself, that all of your problems will go away. But once you change that one thing, you will find a problem with something else about yourself. I don't believe that anyone can be completely comfortable in their own skin because you will always be different from someone else. And being different in society today does have a double meaning. I feel like you can only be different to a certain extent. That you can only be different while staying in the boundaries of the norm. And as you travel through different groups in society those norms change as well. So while we are all trying to be our own, unique person we are also being held back by fear...of rejection. So in trying to spread the diversity through our culture, we are holding ourselves back at the same time.

Haha that video's kind of sad... ): It's totally the wrong message to kids too. Kermit shouldn't be so pessimistic about his skin color! He should try to find a way to be different instead of finding ways where he's similar to other things. And he should be saying how he has other great qualities which make him stand out. I mean just because he's green doesn't mean he's boring and doesn't have other qualities to him.
