Why Diversity Sucks
The reason why i posted it this because its true about what he says as in the more we think about how diverse we are, the further away we get from getting passed our differences.

I do think he is right! Although he does exaggerate it a bit he is right. If we think about how diverse we are and always have to include everyone then we really are not getting passed our differences. It shouldn't matter if there is a white person on the cover and not a black person. Now we are just pointing out those differences and we are not thinking of everyone is the same.
Besides being extremely funny, this guy is also right. I mean get real, you're going to tell me the 5 people of different ethnic backrounds and age groups are all going out to dinner at fridays together, and are great friends. These comercials are just simply not realistic. People tend to stick wwith their own people. This isn't racism, this is just because people are usually closer to people they can identify with. Its gotten to the point where every single commercial on tv has to include at least 4 different groups of people. I'm not trying to sound racist, I'm just being observant.
Tyler Oakly is great. As is diversity. But to me, diversity is NOT throwing a bunch of random people of different races/ethnicities/religions so we can mix things up and say, "Look! How nice all of these kids of different shapes, sizes, and colors hanging out and having a good time." On the birth control pamphlet in the video, it seems just like that: forced. And that's obvious--the forced-ness--it's palpable. And it drives people apart instead of bringing them together. INSTEAD, diversity is learning about and embracing our differences, whether they be cultural, racial, political, or even our opinions in music. All of this is diversity, and people who chalk it up to just being a race issue are ridiculous.
P.S. Tyler Oakly also forgot the token handicapped kid who usually surfaces in these kinds of situations. The one in the wheelchair. Just thought I'd point that out...
I agree!!! By purposely putting multiple races in commercials or in magazine ads it's doing the opposite of diversifying. They are just putting different races together because they feel obligated to to avoid from seeming "racist". So instead of putting people in commercials who look good together or really get the message across you are throwing together a bunch of different races to look diverse. Is this really the point?
