YES i agree 100%... but i believe there is a catch - as in - don't do anything to ruin your freedom... as in commit a crime - or something that abuses it.
you are given freedom at birth... but physically your freedom can be taken away.
I agree with you Alex! We're all born with the right to basic freedom. And we're all entitled to freedom to a certain degree (not entitled to a degree, but freedom to a degree). And I also agree that when you commit a crime, etc. you revoke your right to freedom... to a degree. I mean, in prisons, criminals still have some basic rights like freedom of speech, and the freedom to eat if they want, etc. but they are limited. In solitary confinement, you can say what you want, you just have limits as to what you can do and where you can go (since you're locked up in a cell).
I think that all human beings are born free. However, freedom also comes with a price. When people have too much freedom, they tend to do whatever they want and not what they need. That is why we have laws and certain guidelines to keep freedom in check. No matter what, freedom is a birthright that can still be taken away by physical force. So, people should enjoy the freedom that we all have right now.
Freedom is definitely a birthright. All men are guaranteed it. Unless someone does something to revoke their right to freedom, such as commiting a crime, everyone should get it. I think that the fact that our freedom does have its own checks and balances is what seperates humans from animals. Animals are free to roam and do anything they please without having to worry about the consequences of their actions. Humans simply cannot.
Freedom is a birthright. We are all humans and a part of society and thus we should all have freedom. We should be able to dress they way we want, read whatever we want, listen to whatever we want, etc. It is not fair that some have freedom while others do not because of minor differences like race, skin color, or religious background. We are, biologically, 99% identical with the 1% coding for physical attributes. We are all the same, so if one person has freedom, shouldn't the rest?
However, I do believe that while freedom is a right that should be granted for everyone, it is also a privilege. Meaning that it can be taken away if the freedom is being used in a way to hurt someone or a group. For example, we all have the freedom to follow whichever religion we want. But if we use that freedom to forcefully convert someone, that that person should have their freedom taken away. Similarly, we have to freedom of speech and the press. But if that freedom is used to do harm, then it should be taken away.
It is important that we all have freedom because freedom allows us to express ourselves without fear of getting punished. However, if freedom is used in a wrong way, it should be taken away. So as Ben Parker said (with a little tweaking) “With great [freedom] comes great responsibility.”
Yes it is a birthright, and yes all people deserve it. However, I agree with everyone who said it can be taken away. If you abuse your freedom to do something bad than you don't deserve it at all.
All humans are born being free. But that freedom defiantly has certain limits. Just because you are born free doesn't mean you will be free all your life. As you grow older you have to take responsibility for yourself and eventually you become more independent and have more freedom. Especially with your parents or guardians. They make sure you deserve your freedom and can take care of yourself before they can give it to you. You must earn it. Just like if you commit a crime, then you deserve to have your freedom taken away because you cannot handle the responsibility of it.
I agree 100% that freedom is a birthright. However, in the words of Spiderman's Uncle Ben, "With great power, comes great responsibilty." We're lucky to live in a country that advocates these basic freedoms, so to take advantage of them should result in consequences. If you're doing something thats infringing on the freedom of others, then you deserve to pay a price: that's what seperates freedom from anarchy.
yes i think everyone deserves to have a freedom. they can whatever they want. no one can stop them from doing anything unless it is something illigal.
A short and simple question deserves a short and simple answer.
Why wouldn't they?
While there are freedoms and certain rights that a person is meant to be guarenteed, we can't live in a totally free society. With total freedom enters total chaos, which last I heard wasn't a good thing. Freedom is a nice thing to have, but ignoring the responsibility that comes with freedom comes with a heavy price.
yes i think freedom is a birthright, but what you do and how you act can affect how much freedom you have. if you commit a crime or do something illegal your freedom gets taken away. you have to be careful with what you do and what freedoms you use, because it can easily be taken away.
I think that freedom is 100% birthright and that every person should have to that freedom. The only reason that freedom should be taken is if they do something that really deserves that freedom to be taken away, such as killing, etc. A recent event that goes with this topic is the possible destruction of Guantanamo Bay. This place is for terrorists to be taken so that, simply, they don't bother us again. That is one instance were those people deserve no freedom, they have attempted to and have in some cases killed American soldiers and citizens, they deserve absolutely nothing. But in all cases freedom should be given to everyone and only denied to the people that commit TERRIBLE crimes.

Everyone on this earth deserves freedom, there is no question! Freedom is necessary in order for people to grow and for society to grow. If people weren’t allowed to have basic freedoms then they would be stuck both in society and they personally wouldn’t be able to grow. Without basic freedoms people wouldn't be able to speak their minds without being suppressed by an oppressive authority. I believe there are some places in the world where people's basic freedoms aren't giving such as North Korea. With a supreme dictator, the people of the country can't say or even do anything that would "upset" the dear leader; it is wrong what is happening their and if something could be done, it should; everyone needs freedom!
Based on the constitution yes it is. All American citizens are guaranteed basic principles including freedom of speech, religion, press, etc. For further freedoms please look at the constitution and most specifically the Bill of Rights and amendments.
I agree with Alex also in the fact that if you do something wrong your freedoms are allowed to be taken away. They are a privilege and some sort of consequences must be administered if you've done something that deserves punishment. The law only takes away basic freedoms to prevent people from harming themselves or someone else.
I think that being free is a birthright. I don't think anyone was put on this earth not deserving freedom and everyone should be able to feel like they have the freedom to express themselves and present themselves how they want. Of course there are always limitations to how far a person should go with their freedom and once they cross the line of what freedom should mean, their rights should be taken away, but to a certain extent. No one has the right to hurt another human being or torture them.
I also think that all humans are born completely free. However, having to much freedom would deffinitely have consequences. As with complete freedom their would be anarchy and no self control. This is why we have laws to keep people under control.
To a certain extent, yes, everyone does a right to be free. Everyone deserves to be free in the sense that nobody should be slaves or anything. Nobody should ever have to speak up to other people. However, not everyone should be free in the sense that you can't just do whatever the hell you want whenever you want. When you're born, yes you are free, but you still need to obey what your parents say. Everyone deserves to be equal, but there still needs to be a higher power governing over the equally free people. But yes, everyone is born with the right to be free and no one can take that away from you.
every living thing on this earth deserves the opportunity of freedom. this is depicted in both religious texts and government texts. however as we have proved over time, not everyone is given the freedom they rightfully deserve. The human race is built off the concept of survival of the fittest- better known as social darwinism. It is inevitable that some people or some groups will try to take control of others. Just b/c it isnt right, doesnt mean it's not going to happen. Everyone is entitled to personal freedom (to an extent of course), and not everyone gets it- thats life.
yes! i deffinitly think everyone deserves freedom as a birthright. however, everyone creates their own fate on how it works for them. for example everyone deserves the right to live but if they become a serial killer i believe theyve destroyed other peoples freedom and right to live therefore could be sentanced to death as a consequence. every action has a consequence.
Freedom is without a doubt a birthright. Everyone is born with the right to freedom. However their are rules and laws that we must follow. These laws are simply just to keep us as a society. No person regardless of ethnicity or religion should be denied basic human freedoms. Under certain circumstances i think it can be taken away. Jail for example. the only way to get into jail is by doing something against the laws and therefore deserves to go to jail.
