The cage vs. The world
A lion tamer said "There is a cage. Outside the cage is the cage and inside is the world." What do you think it means? How do you think it applies to freedom?
I don't know if I could offer up my own opinions on my own question, but I'll do it anyway. Okay so to me the first mention of the cage is your cage. It is your sanctuary, the place where you feel most like yourself, where everything is relaxed and perfect and where you feel most free. And the second mention of the cage is the world. And the mention of world is your world. With that being said, I’ll explain my perception of the quote. Outside the four walls of your cage is the world, your true cage. It feels that the world and society impose many rules and norms that we must follow or we are rejected by society and considered “weird.” As a result, the society is at times repressing and very limiting. That is the true cage than hinders you from expressing yourself. But inside your cage is the world. It’s the place where you feel most at home, the place where you can be yourself freely. You don’t have to worry about following certain norms or acting or being a certain person in your sanctuary. In your cage, you can be. You can say whatever, dress whatever, listen to whatever.
