It's sad, but we have to face it. There is freedom in this country, yet not what we think. I feel like even though you can practice whatever religion you want, if you're a nonbeliever, you will be influenced at some point in your life. Religion should not be that important. It is sad but i feel like it's over-rated. Mostly because it's something that we are not sure about. What we are sure about is that there is a person standing next to you. Then why on earth would you want to kill the person you see, hear, feel over something that is totally unseen? Religion should be something that you keep to yourself. It should not influence anyone else. Yet for some reason people feel like it's a big deal. You can't have religious freedom in a country where people will kill others about it. It's stupid to mix politics over religion. Those two things have nothing in common. How can you tell someone can lead the country by his religion? You can't! There are so many other things we need to focus on about the candidates. Religion will not guide people. People guide people!

A lot of people just have blind faith, but I agree with you. People shouldn't kill for their religion. Religion is a personal choice that should not affect relationships with others of a different religion. People should keep their religions to themselves and not argue over it.
This idea may be soluble over here, but if you walk on over into Jerusalem or Saudia Arabia and say that then you will most surely be attacked for that belief. Whether people like it or not religion is very important to some people that its worth dying over. Some people are willing to die for their honor, some for their family, and some for their religion. Religion is something that many people like to say isn't that important, but to many others it is worth sacraficing yourself over. Religion is an important factor in many lives both over seas and here in EB. Religion may not be important to you or me, but to others religion is worth risking everything you have over.
I completely agree with you. I was raised Roman Catholic but i personally am Agnostic. I believe that it really doesnt matter what you believe as long as you are a good person then when you die you will find out. My absolute biggest pet peeve is when people mix up politics and religion. When you start to confuse the two then you force others to follow your believe instead of their own.
I think people have a right to participate in any religion they choose. However, when their religion, whatever it may be, starts influencing others who don't share the same beliefs in a negative way, then there is a serious problem. You can believe in whatever god you want to, but that doesn't give you the right to harass or harm others for the sake of your religion. It's this intolerance of other beliefs that can make our world a violent place to live in. In order for this problem to be fixed, we need to tolerate and respect each other’s religion, just as long as it doesn’t encourage the use of violence to prove a point.
