3D Street Art

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAtO55bu4WU

This video shows a few examples of a new art form that is done on the streets of diffrent cities. While watching this, it made me thing what is real? if i were to pass one of these, i might actually think something was sitting or sxomign up from the sidewalk. Some of the drawings even make it look as if the sidewalk has been removed or that there is a gaping hole leading to the center of the earth. what do you think of the art? Is it simply abstract and the artists use the street as their canvas? Or do you think it is a form of sculpture? hey.. it could be anything!

wow these works of art are truly amazing. i would actually think that there was a hole through the sidewalk and not want to walk on top of it. it seems so real! this 3d street art is like the wax museum in new york city, you don't really know what is real. there is this one lady standing right in the middle of the hall trying to take a picture, she looks so real that everyone doesn't want to walk in front of her to ruin her picture, but if you look closely she's actually a wax figure.

These 3D chalk drawings are really cool, but they play tricks on the mind. They look best when you look at them at a certain point of view. The girl with the foot sticking out is actually over ten feet long. The art seems realistic because of the shadings and mixing of color.

those are sooooo cool! If i were walking down the street i'd think they were real. which could be dangerous..... i like how they play tricks on your mind. after seeing that how are you ever going to know what is real and in front of you?!

These 3D drawings are very cool and I couldn't tell if they were even real of fake at times. I like this type of creative art and I think more artist should be creative like this. Any art that really makes a person thinks to me is a creative art.

haha THOSE ARE SO COOL. That's the type of art that really catches my eye. You weren't really sure what was real and not. Like I even thought some of the real people were fake. But anyway, I wouldn't consider it as a form of sculpture... more abstract art.

That was ridiculous! I have no idea how the artist is able to make the artwork appear to jump off the page, but I guess that is why they are the artist and I am the viewer. We should get some people to make murals like these in our school and you’ll always have to touch them to see if it is real. For anybody who goes to Dr. Fleer’s office they have wallpaper of a brick wall and every time I go I can not remember if it is real brick or wallpaper it is so convincing the depth. But for anyone who can make art like this, you should do it on one of the school walls or in one of the parking lots it would be awesome. Also, it would probably count for some humanities points.
